Atzompa, toma su nombre del n\u00e1huatl y significa \u2018En la cumbre del agua”. En este municipio ya conurbado con la Cd de Oaxaca se vive de la artesan\u00eda. Una gran proporci\u00f3n de la poblaci\u00f3n depende de este oficio, y luchan d\u00eda a d\u00eda para que no se pierda. Aunque a Santa Mar\u00eda Atzompa lo reconocen por elaborar el barro verde, en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os algunas familias han comenzado a explorar diferentes variedades de barro.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Ahora se pueden encontrar tanto en el mercado de artesan\u00edas, como en los hogares de los artesanos y artesanas; barro natural, blanco, rojo. Antes encontrabas m\u00e1s jarros, ollas, platos, tasas, en general utensilios de cocina, ahora las y los artesanos innovan y han pasado de lo cl\u00e1sico a l\u00e1mparas, accesorios para la sala, cocina, rec\u00e1maras y art\u00edculos decorativos diversos. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n

En esta localidad es donde se form\u00f3 la Colmena n\u00famero 152, llamada “mujeres artesanas” y la se\u00f1ora Mar\u00eda Asunci\u00f3n V\u00e1squez es una de sus integrantes, ella usa su cr\u00e9dito nos dice Erendira Zoveyda Castellanos Bola\u00f1os, Promotora de Desarrollo y Servicios Financieros del Programa Bancomunidad – Fincomunidad del Centro de Desarrollo Comunitario Cent\u00e9otl AC a la venta de artesan\u00edas. Ella es artesana y particularmente invirte en la compra de barro de golpear, barro de remojar y polvo para decorar sus artesan\u00edas. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
